The purpose of modified PC is to toughen, improve the performance of shaping and processing, reduce residual deformation and increase flame retardancy. The specific types of PC that can be modified include:

PC/ABS can improve bending modulus, heat resistance, electroplating performance, etc.

PC/PET and PBT can improve drug resistance and solvent resistance.

Adding plexiglass to PC/PMMA can improve the appearance of pearlescent colors.

PC/PA and HIPS can improve impact toughness and surface finish.

PC/HDPE can improve boiling water resistance, aging resistance and weather resistance, while LDPE has poor effect.

PC glass fiber or carbon fiber to enhance the mechanical strength.

Flame retardant PC can be made by using brominated flame retardant and antimony trioxide.

Other and polysulfone, aromatic polycarbonate, polyformaldehyde, polypropylene, polystyrene can be blended to achieve the balance between economy and performance.
